During 2009, I was looking for a way to improve the amount of vehicles we serviced at our location. I contacted Sav' On Signs to inquire about an LED digital sign. During initial discussions, Keith Martin was able to get me a count of vehicles that drove by my store on a daily basis.
I was concerned about the amount of time people could read and comprehend the displays on the sign. My concerns were overcome when Keith had a representative from Watchfire Signs stop at my location with a working LED Sign on the back of his vehicle that said, "Honk if you support our Troops." Within seconds, cars were blowing their horns as they drove by my location.
Of course my next and biggest concern was the expense of the investment. We measure profitability based on the amount of cars we service per day and gross profit per car. Keith ensured me my average car count would increase with the sign. I agreed to invest and purchase the sign.
Over the span of several months, my car counts increased by 4.5 per day, with an average gross profit per vehicle of $73. My gross profit increased by $328 per day. This was also done by decreasing other forms of advertising.
With this type of profit increase, we covered the cost of the sign investment within a few months. Also, since we had a separate electric meter for our sign, we were able to track the amount of electricity it took to operate the sign; our electric bill actually decreased compared with our previous sign.
I cannot stress how satisfied I am with the Watchfire sign and the service we received from Sav' On Signs. I highly recommend the investment.
